Deservedly so? Thought it was much better than 9. 9 is the most overrated game in the series imo. The combat was such step back from 8.
9s combat is too simple, never understood people saying it's the best in the series.
Never understood the love for 9. It's a good game but the combat is so hokey. Easily the worst of the PS1 ff games imo.
Don't get people that prefer 9 to 8. 9's combat system was way too simple. The limit breaks were so campy. Compare lionheart to grand lethal. A 20 plus hit limit break to a one hit tidal wave. 8 had way more dramatic combat objectively. Everything else is subjective but I couldn't stand 9s combat.

Seems like a weird approach if you had that approach for the most powerful system when this gen started. You'd have the most friends on PS4, the most games on PS4, and you'd be most invested in the PS4 ecosystem. Pretty difficult to just turn that around last minute, no?
People do understand that if Sony was to allow cross platform, it doesn't mean every single online game will have cross platform. It's not the big deal people are making it out to be. Plus, the buy where your friends play effect is working for Sony, why would they give their competitors a leg up?
There's a huge trade off in time there, 4 whole years ... Never understood the rant against buying launch consoles. Wait til the end of the gen to purchase them and the next one starts...
You say that as if Sony didn't have the marketshare with PS2. PS4 just took back what they lost with PS3 which was even with 360 despite releasing a year later. If you're talking specifically about US then you have a point.
Of course they do, it's the only way they stand a chance.
One X does that and Pro is within 70 percent of doing that for most games. Next gen will surely be in another ballpark. I agree about pushing resolution though. 1440p looks just as good. Devs should focus more on fidelity.
From a business standpoint, why would a gaming company doing much better than their competitors allow them a leg up?
The way Sony looks at it, it forces people to buy a PS4 if they want to play with their friends. Your situation is in the minority looking at the sales figures.
I'm tired of the notion that bigger map means better game. Better interactivity and more to do should take priority. Games are becoming a chore because of this notion. Don't feel like holding forward for 5 minutes to get to something interesting.
